It’s Poetry Friday!
I’ve been using some of Georgia Heard’s July Field Guide as prompts this month. I’m enjoying how Georgia’s suggestions encourage me to think outside the box and look for inspiration in different places. Of course, I still most often turn to nature and memories. Here are two short offerings using the prompts “Find where nature is trying to enter” and “Make a list of what July keeps.”
Nature’s Tenacity
green springs from rotting trees
vines twine through honeysuckle
a sunflower sprout

Rose, lovely and Georgia’s prompts are inspirational:) Empty school bags and happy tail wags… feels so summer to me as a former teacher. Ah July, wonderful tribute to midsummer:)

What a GREAT use of a prompt. Both of these are stellar, but that July keeps thunder claps/and frozen ice cream treats, perhaps? Pure perfection. I love that so much! This July has been keeping a ton of humidity, and I have a bit of beef with that, but we carry on.

I found Georgia’s prompts last week and alas, have not done any – even though I had good intention. However, we were away for two days this week. You did a great job of July – it captures summer beautifully. Enjoy your beach time, Rose!
